Why PackIt

Shipping, but make it smart

Millions of kilos of luggage space fly empty every day. PackIt puts it to work — for both sides.

Verified community

Every user completes ID verification — passport or ID plus a selfie — and new accounts are reviewed before they can match. Ratings keep everyone accountable after each delivery.

Faster & flexible

Skip depots, queues and week-long transit. Your item flies with a traveler already going your way — often the same day their flight leaves.

You set the price

Senders offer a reward, travelers can counter, and you lock it in together. No hidden fees, no surprise surcharges — just an agreement between two people.

How it works

Two sides. One match.

Whether you're sending or flying, you're four steps away from your first match.

1

Post your shipment

Add the route, your date window, the item's weight and size (S/M/L), a photo, and mark it fragile if needed.

2

Set your reward

PackIt suggests a fair reward based on weight, size and urgency — you choose the final offer.

3

Match with a traveler

Browse verified travelers already flying your route, check their rating and spare capacity, and propose a match — or accept theirs.

4

Hand off & track

Meet for pickup, then follow every stage in the app until your package is delivered.

1

Post your trip

Enter your route, departure date and how many spare kilos you have. Add your flight number if you like.

2

Get matched

See shipments along your route, or receive proposals from senders. You decide what you're comfortable carrying.

3

Agree the reward

Accept the sender's offer or counter with your own price. Nothing moves until both sides agree.

4

Fly & earn

Pick up the item, update the status as you go, deliver it, and collect your reward. Your rating grows with every delivery.

Every delivery, tracked step by step

From the first proposal to the final hand-off, both sides see exactly where things stand — the same five stages you'll see in the app.

FAQ

Good questions, quick answers

The basics of sending, traveling and matching on PackIt.

What exactly is PackIt?
PackIt is a peer-to-peer app that connects two kinds of people: senders, who need to get an item to another city or country, and travelers, who are already flying that route with spare space in their luggage. The sender pays a reward, the traveler earns it, and the item gets there faster and cheaper than with traditional carriers.
How does matching work?
Senders post a shipment (route, date window, weight, size, reward offer). Travelers post a trip (route, departure date, spare kilos). PackIt shows each side the listings that fit their route and dates. Either side can propose a match — the other reviews the details and profile, then accepts, declines, or counters the price. A match only goes ahead when both sides have agreed.
Who decides the price?
You do — together. PackIt suggests a fair reward based on weight, size, fragility and urgency, but the sender sets the actual offer and the traveler can accept it or counter. Nothing is locked in until both sides agree on the same number.
How do I know the other person is trustworthy?
Every PackIt account goes through identity verification — a passport or ID document plus a selfie — and new profiles are reviewed before they can match. After each delivery, both sides rate each other, so you can check a user's rating and history before agreeing to anything. If something ever feels off, you can report it to support@itspackit.com.
What can I send — and what's not allowed?
PackIt is built for everyday personal items — documents, gifts, clothes, gadgets, specialty foods, that thing you forgot at your parents' place. Never send or carry:
  • Illegal substances, weapons, or explosives
  • Hazardous chemicals or flammable goods
  • Counterfeit goods, cash, or high-risk valuables
  • Anything prohibited by airline rules, customs, or local law at origin or destination
Travelers: always check what you're carrying before you accept — it flies under your name.
How does tracking work?
Every match moves through five stages — Proposed → Accepted → Picked up → In transit → Delivered — and both sides see the timeline update in real time. The traveler updates the status as the delivery progresses, so the sender always knows where things stand.
How much can I earn as a traveler?
It depends on the route, the item and your spare capacity. As a reference, rewards are typically anchored around ~$50 per kg, with more for larger, fragile, or time-sensitive items. Carrying a few kilos on a trip you were taking anyway can meaningfully offset your ticket. Try the estimator above to get a feel for it.
Is PackIt free to use?
Yes — downloading PackIt, posting trips and shipments, and matching are free. The reward is agreed between sender and traveler and settled between you when you meet.
What about airport security and customs?
PackIt is not a shipping company — travelers carry items under their own responsibility, just like anything else in their luggage. That's why we recommend travelers always inspect the item at pickup, only carry things they're comfortable declaring, and follow airline and customs rules for both countries. Senders should be transparent about exactly what's inside.
Where is PackIt available?
PackIt is live internationally on the iOS App Store — you can post trips and shipments between cities worldwide. Download it here and see what's moving on your route.
